July
Just before midnight, when the moon sits high, and air so thick with the heavy heat of mid-July.
Finally offering my piece since Aidan Alan decided to include me in this, and I spent my weekend in Europe trying to figure out what the actual fuck I was going to do. Lucky for him, I did.
The “challenge” posed was to write a poem about you and your birth month. I wrote an astrology piece a while ago with ALL the months, but I guess that wasn’t enough, however, sticking with that theme, I decided to go with the below. And yes, I did copy your other poem, sue me (but I liked it!).
Also, I am not a show off, nor do I have the skill to show off 3 different renditions…so you get one. :D
Journey begins where the moon crowns the sea,
when the tides swell high and the night air breathes free.
She was a child of laughter, one teeming with love and ache—
fierce and rebellious, with a peaceful caring heart she’ll guard for her sake.
They call her quiet, gentle, a creature so tame,
but beneath her calm expression, wild tempests seek rein.
Under her smile, the storm takes form—
a pulse of deep love, her emotions keep her torn.
She builds from shards of others’ pain,
yet offers them hope like midsummer rain.
There’s fire in her tenderness, an ache to be shown,
and a longing for the peace she’s never truly known.
Learning to release what she cannot hold,
and to love herself with a courage to behold.
She burns like dawn, a soft, defiant flame,
learning that rage and beauty are one and the same.
Messy and uncertain, broken but real, someone who
rises each day,
half chaos, half grace, but wholly true.
You may call her tender, you may call her weak,
but her deep fury hums beneath her moon-pale cheek.
Like July’s sun, she blazes and bleeds,
her warmth both balm and burn for those who heed.
So if you wilt beneath her glow, you will see—
Like the silver moon reflecting the oceans below,
she mirrors and seeks what your soul refuses to show.

It's interesting how you captured such intricate dualities. Reminds me of architecting complex systems, where surface calm often hides deep, powerful processes. Your words truely resonate with that deep struggle for inner peace and offering hope to others. Very insightful writing.
